Our application process is designed to select candidates who are passionate about dog training and demonstrate the potential to contribute positively to Ridgeside K9 and the dog training community. We are committed to providing an exceptional educational experience in a secure and nurturing environment. RSK9 looks forward to receiving your application and potentially welcoming you into our esteemed Dog Trainer Shadow Program.

To apply for our Dog Trainer Shadow Program, applicants must meet the following requirements to ensure a comprehensive learning experience while upholding the safety and integrity of our local community, program, and dog trainer community:

  1. Age and Education: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have completed high school or possess a General Education Development (GED) certificate. This foundation is essential for engaging effectively with the program’s curriculum.
  1. Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee of $75 is required to process your application. This fee helps cover the administrative costs associated with the application review process. A payment link will be sent to you after you complete the application. 
  1. Refundable Tuition Deposit: A $500 refundable tuition deposit is required to secure your spot upon acceptance into the program. This deposit is fully refundable should you decide not to enroll in the program.A link will be sent to you after you complete the application to make your tuition deposit.. 
  1. Background Check: Ridgeside K9 will submit a criminal background check for all participants and staff safety. This measure is crucial to maintaining a safe learning environment throughout the program. Your application fee pays for this. 
  1. Reference Checks:  Applicants are required to submit two references from individuals who can provide insights into the applicant’s work ethic, character, and suitability for a career in dog training. Ridgeside K9 will send a questionnaire link to your references once you complete the application. 
  1. Essay Submission: Each applicant must submit an essay detailing their interest in dog training, their goals for participating in the shadow program, and how they envision applying the skills learned. This essay is an opportunity for applicants to showcase their passion and commitment to the field of dog training.
